How to Clean Polycarbonate Roof Sheets

The solid and multi-wall polycarbonate roof sheets, which are common on the roofs of conservatories, pergolas, and canopies, should be cleaned periodically. Doing so will ensure that the sheets not only look good, but continue to perform at their best. The following simple steps will help to ensure that your conservatory and lean-to roof sheets do just that.

  • Rinse sheets with lukewarm water to prepare and soften dirt
  • Mix household cleaner, or mild soap, with clean lukewarm water
  • Gently remove dirt and grime with a sponge or soft cloth using the soapy water mix
  • Repeat the process
  • Rinse the sheet and dry with a soft cloth

IMPORTANT: Don't scrub with brushes or sharp instruments. Do not use solvent, abrasives or high alkaline cleaners. Always test cleaners on a sample sheet - even if it claims to be safe for polycarbonate. Always take great care when working at height and follow common safety advice.
