What is a cockspur handle?

It features a "nose" that engages with a wedge-shaped block on the window frame to secure the window closed. This design differs from timber window handles, where the handle's nose closes into a block.

How do I remove a cockspur handle?

To remove a cockspur handle, locate the cover caps concealing the screws on the handle. Gently pry these caps off to reveal the screws, then unscrew them to detach the handle. If the handle is attached with rivets instead of screws, you'll need to drill out the rivet heads to remove the handle and re-rivet the new one during replacement.

What should I consider when replacing a cockspur handle?

When replacing a cockspur handle, pay attention to the following:
